The Owls Head - Mt. View Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services within the Town of Bellmont and Town of Duane in Franklin County NY and the surrounding region. The department has been providing emergency services for approximately 2000 people in a rugged area in the foothills of the Northern Adirondack Mountains for 50 years.

Our mission is provide high quality fire, rescue, and emergency medical services by maintaining a fleet of four well equipped fire units, a well equipped Ambulance unit, and well trained members. We hope that our website helps residents and visitors better understand our nonprofit organization and our mission.

September 18, 2007: Tamarack Inn in Duane NY tragically burns to the ground. Owls Head - Mt. View units provide support to Duane FD under an automatic mutual aid plan and were some of the first units on scene. Click image for more pictures.

September 17, 2007: The Owls Head - Mt. View FD hosts helicopter training with the New York State Forest Rangers. Ranger Tom Gliddi and North County Life-flight staff instruct FD members on how to establish landing zones, load patients into the helicopter, and how to assist with host lifting operations.
