Owls Head - Mt. View Fire Department - 13-SLED-1

Back: Return to Apparatus

13-SLED-1:

13-SLED-1 is a 2002 Bombardier Tundra Snowmobile with two tow behind Cascade Rescue Sleds.  This unit is used to rescue patients injured in remote locations during the winter months.  The fire department responds to numerous snowmobile accidents in very remote locations each year.  This unit allows EMT's to safely transport patients to an awaiting Ambulance at a trail head.

The unit was purchased by the department in 2002 for $3500.00 with donations from a number of agencies (see list of donors below) and a fundraiser hosted by one of our sponsors: Roberts Sports Center

The Fire Department is very appreciative of all the agencies that donated funds for this project, the assistance that Roberts Sports Center provided, and to Firefighter Craig Prue for his work on coordinating and overseeing this project.
